NCG Medical Announces Its Participation in Preliminary ARRA 2011 Certification Program

Altamonte Springs, FL

ORLANDO, FL – October 7, 2009

NCG Medical announces Perfect Care EHR’s® participation in The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology’s (CCHIT®) new certification program. The Commission offers a modular certification program called Preliminary ARRA 2011 aligned with standards for qualifying Electronic Health Records (EHR) technology under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Complete information about this program and its requirements is available at http://www.cchit.org/get_certified.

Once certified in the Preliminary ARRA 2011 program, NCG Medical’s technology will include a Certification Facts label indicating which of the Meaningful Use objectives the technology supports. The label will allow eligible providers to understand which product – or products in combination – can support all the necessary objectives to qualify for ARRA incentive funding.
“Physicians are looking for assurance that their EHR investments will meet ARRA standards and qualify for up to $44,000 in incentive payments per provider,” said Antonio Arias NCG Medical SVP of Business Development, “Our decision to move forward with CCHIT on the first day of application, instead of waiting, reassures clients and prospects alike that NCG Medical is both investing and leading in innovation, to meet and exceed federal requirements for incentive payments.”

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA,) signed by President Barack Obama on February 17, 2009, offers financial incentives for healthcare providers across the United States to invest in technology, converting medical records to electronic formats. The ARRA includes more than $21 billion of funding in technology investments. CMS, the center for Medicare and Medicaid services, must still formalize the federal certification process and the definition of meaningful use for ARRA payments starting January 2011. Providers who purchase certified systems and meet the criteria for meaningful use will be eligible for incentive payments.
